Brooklyn + Ice Cream = Glorious

It may not officially be summer yet, but ice cream season has definitely arrived, and Brooklyn has several new notable ice cream options. Here are a few new sweet spots to satisfy your craving:
Since its opening in October, Blue Marble (420 Atlantic Ave) has been garnering praise for its freshly made all-organic, all-natural ice cream. A cute back patio and free wi-fi add to the shop's offerings, and last month the eco-friendly eatery opened a second branch in Prospect Heights (186 Underhill Ave), this one complete with a children's play area.
Over in Cobble Hill, the popular Sweet Melissa (276 Court Street) has expanded and opened Sweet Melissa Cremerie. The patisserie now offers a full menu of ice cream classics ranging from milkshakes and egg creams to creative treats like a tempting "hot fudge peanut brittle" concoction and a "pistachio truffle sundae." Purists, note that the shop dishes out plain old-fashioned scoops, too.
Finally, if the lines at the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory in DUMBO are discouraging, then make your way to Greenpoint, where a second branch of the Brooklyn favorite opened last year (97 Commercial St, at the end of Manhattan Ave). The ice cream here is the same creamy goodness served up at the DUMBO location, just without the long wait.
