The Beginnings of the Brooklyn Bridge

About.com Architecture Guide Jackie Craven writes that today, January 3, marks the 139th anniversary of the day that construction began on the Brooklyn Bridge. The bridge, which officially opened to traffic in 1883, has over the years inspired artists, poets, filmmakers, and even Frank Sinatra.
