Forget the laundry, shopping, and errands this weekend! Spend a Saturday playing tourist in Brooklyn. Here's a sampling of just one day's worth of great things going on this Saturday, May 11th.
1. COOL OFF at a Brooklyn Beer Hall! The beer hall tradition has been revived in Brooklyn. Check out various locations, many in Williamsburg, where you can taste imported and locally brewed beers, and cool off from a hot, hot week in the city!
2. HEAD TO THE WATER. You can go boating on Jamaica Bay, or in NY Harbor off Brooklyn Bridge Park, or head to the beach at Coney Island.
3. FREE COMEDY. Check out comedy night at the BamCafe where the humor is free, though the drinks aren't!
4. EXPLORE BROOKLYN OLD AND NEW. Like Italian opera? Then head to Brooklyn Heights for a surprising Saturday program at the Brooklyn Historical Society. Or, want to see what kind of food, music and crafts are being made in Brooklyn? Then check out the Brooklyn Botanic Garden's Saturday festival.
5. WATCH A CLASSIC FLICK IN A CLASSIC SETTING. The Coney Island Film Society is showing TOMMY Saturday night.
