It wasn't that long ago that I moved into Brooklyn's cozy, Sesame-Street-like brownstone world, only to hear gunshots from a bar around the corner on our very first night as resident Brooklynites. So I'm expressing one person's opinion here when I congratulate Mayor Bloomberg's for calling on national leadership from President Obama and Republican candidate Romney in reducing gun deaths (read here) in the wake of the latest Colorado shooting mayhem at a Batman movie. If it can happen in Denver, it can happen in Downtown Brooklyn, too. And while we hope not, there's more prevention to be done than just hoping.
