Some residents of hurricane-strafed Red Hook in Brooklyn, where IKEA survived and Fairway got flooded, are just getting electricity back; I watched the lights go on (literally) yesterday on Dikeman Street. And while there are other food shops in the hood, it's hard to get from Red Hook elsewhere without a car. So, what about food for those living in, remaining in, returning to Red Hook, Brooklyn?
With thousands of volunteers working on recovery and many locals home to clean out their messes, the Red Hook Initiative, Red Cross food deliver van, miscellaneous individuals, and mega-corporation Time Warner is distributing free food to residents and volunteers in Red Hook. Below is the Time Warner food distribution schedule (@TWCable_NYC for any scheduling changes).
- Monday - The intersection of Pioneer Street & Visitation Place from 11AM to 4PM. from "Hibachi Heaven." Also, food from "Commecicommeca" at the Red Hook Initiative at 767 Hicks Street
- Tuesday - From 11AM to 4PM, food from "Phil's Steaks" at The Red Hook Initiative Wednesday -From 11AM to 4PM, & intersection of Pioneer Street & Visitation Place.
- Friday -"Eddie's Pizza" at The Red Hook Initiative from 11AM to 4PM, and "Commecicommeca" at Pioneer Street & Visitation Place from 11AM to 4PM.

Pioneer Street & Visitation Place
RUN PARALLEL AND DO NOT CROSS.
Sorry, I was just posting what Time Warner sent me. Good idea to check the coordinates myself. Did you happen to notice if there were in fact food trucks?
