Art Lovers, Calendarize This: First Huge John Singer Sargent Watercolor Exhibit in 20 Years Comes to Brooklyn Museum

By December 3, 2012

Follow me on:

Hot off the press: The Brooklyn Museum, in conjunction with Boston's esteemed Museum of Fine Arts will host what they're billing as a "landmark" and "once-in-a-generation opportunity" exhibition  of  nearly 100 John Singer Sargent watercolors. Both museums have collections of Sargent watercolors, acquired during the early twentieth century. Dozens of paintings will come from the Brooklyn Museum's archives (most of which have not been on view for decades) and over fifty will come from the Boston collection. If you love this work and want to get a panoramic view of Sargent's watercolors, make sure to be in Brooklyn for this exhibit, which will run April 5-July 28, 2013. (Check Brooklyn Museum membership benefits, too.)
