Christmas Day 2012 Restaurants: What's Open in Brooklyn, New York?

What Brooklyn restaurants are open for a casual, last minute brunch or lunch on Christmas Day?

  • Lots of local diners are serving breakfast, and more places will open as the day progresses. For early birds in Park Slope, try Daisy's, Park Slope Restaurant, or Purity Diner for basics. In Brooklyn Heights, the old fashioned Happy Days diner is open 24/7.  You can't beat cheesecake and coffee for breakfast; try Junior's Restaurant in Downtown Brooklyn. You might have to wait, but it's worth it for a classy breakfast at Cafe Luluc in Cobble Hill. If you're starving and want basic/basic on Smith Street, go to St. Clair. For a restaurant breakfast, go to the Marriott on Boerum Place (not in Boerum Hill but in Downtown Brooklyn).  Starbucks locations are all open.

  • For restaurants for lunch/dinner, you can of course head to the local Chinese restaurant! For something a little nicer, and where you can also still make reservations, here are a few good picks:
  • Bacchus in in Boerum Hill, French
  • Beebo Seafood and Raw Bar in Bay Ridge
  • Bombay Dream in Carroll Gardens, Indian
  • Cafe e Vino, Fort Greene, Italian
  • Casa Pepe, Spanish, Sunset Park
  • Fabricca, 6 course tasting menu,  Williamsburg,Italian
  • Forcella  in Williamsburg, Pizzeria
  • Istanbul Park in Park Slope, Mediterranean/Turkish
  • Junior's Restaurant om Downtown Brooklyn, deli & cheeesecake
  • Le Comptoir, Williamsburg, French
  • Marriott Hotel's Archives Restaurant in Downtown Brooklyn near the Brooklyn Bridge
  • My Moon Restaurant in Williamsburg
  • Orange Grill on Cropsey Ave
  • Palo Santo in Park Slope, good eclectic Latin, romantic
  • Pearl Room in Bay Ridge, Seafood
  • Picket Fence in Prospect Heights, Comfort Food
  • Sahara in Midwood, Turkish/Mediterranean
  • Surfish Bistro, International Peruvian, Park Slope
  • T-Fusion Steakhouse in Midwood
