Ah, what a great new years gift! A lot of bus routes that were cancelled in the budget crisis of 2008-9 are, effective today, being restored.
What does this mean for Brooklyn? It means you can take the bus to to a lot of places that the subways can't get you to directly. For instance, starting today, you can take a bus between Williamsburg and the Lower East Side, get to IKEA from Carrol Gardens, travel between Carroll Gardens and Prospect Park or Park Slope, and get down to Coney Island from Bay Ridge.
