A local Brooklyn college, part of the City University of New York system, linked the two observances through a Black History Month film festival on February 14th, showing the following flicks.
The Medgar Evers Media Center Black Love/Black Classics Films Screening include:
- Carmen Jones
- Glory
- A Raisin in the Sun
- Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman
- Lady Sings the Blues
- Sankofa
- For Colored Girls
- Stormy Weather
If you're lucky enough to be in New York, you can attend these films at Medgar Evers College on February 14, 2012. And if not, well, there's always Netflicks...
