Brooklyn's experiencing a boomlet in hotels. And, sandwiched in-between the predictable chain hotels in Brooklyn and the borough's dozen or more bed and breakfasts are a handful of small hotels.
1. Nu Hotel in Boerum Hill
Location, location, location. Opened in 2008, the Nu Hotel is located on one of Brooklyn's most popular restaurant and shopping strips, Smith Street. It's located in the neighborhood of Carroll Gardens, within walking distance of Brooklyn Heights and many convenient subway stops.
In terms of decor, the hotel promises a touch of hip—you can get a hammock in your room, as seen on the hotel's website.
