When is Brooklyn Bridge Traffic From Manhattan Diverted to the Wrong Side?

Question: When is Brooklyn Bridge Traffic From Manhattan Diverted to the Wrong Side?
The Brooklyn Bridge will be undergoing repair until 2014. Brooklyn-bound drivers may find themselves, weirdly, diverted to the "wrong" side of the bridge. What's the schedule of changes impacting drivers?
Answer:

Brooklyn Bound Traffic

The schedule of changes affecting drivers going from Manhattan to Brooklyn is subject to change.

The good news is this: You can always use the Brooklyn Bridge for Brooklyn-bound traffic. The DOT says, "During the rehabilitation work, drivers will always be able to reach Brooklyn via the Brooklyn Bridge."

But, yes from time to time, to accommodate weekend repair work "contraflow" will be in effect, and traffic may be detoured to the north roadway toward Brooklyn.

Drivers' Tip: Look for detailed street signs. Also, when this occurs, drivers may have to use the Centre Street route to get on the Brooklyn Bridge instead of the FDR northbound exit.
