More about Halloween Costumes in Brooklyn?

1. The Salvation Army

helfyre.com

176 Bedford Avenue at N. 7th Street

The Salvation Army has been the go-to store for Halloween costumes all over America, and it's no different in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Going as a Zombie football player for Halloween? Get a jersey from the Salvation Army for $3, cover it in blood, and you're good to go. With the cheapest prices in town, your Salvation-Army made costume will be creative and inexpensive.

2. Vice Versa

241 Bedford Avenue between N. 3rd and N. 4th Streets

Vice Versa is a few steps up from the Salvation Army in terms of selection, but not necessarily in price, making it a favorite place to shop for Halloween costumes in Williamsburg. There are so many dresses, jackets, shoes, accessories, t-shirts and more to choose from: going as a soldier? You've got camo and boots. 50s Prom Queen? Done. 60s Go-Go dancer? You can find all of this at Vice Versa for affordable prices.

3. 10. Ft. Single by Stella Dallas

285 N. 6th Street near Metropolitan Avenue

This gigantic vintage store has clothes for both women and men and is overflowing with accessories. Though pricier than the Salvation Army and Vice Versa, if you're looking for something really specific (i.e. you're doing a character from a movie and you need the right color jacket) Stella Dallas is the place for you. You cannot beat their selection.

4. Beacon's Closet

88 N. 11th Street between Berry St. and Wythe Ave.

Beacon's Closet is a buy and sell second-hand shop located on N. 11th Street. The store's huge selection, with more of an emphasis on unusual vintage pieces (rather than straightforward second-hand thrift) makes it a fantastic place to shop for Halloween costumes and accessories. Beacon's knows this, and reorganizes their floor during October to help you build your costume. You can even find makeup and funny accessories at the front. In terms of price range, it falls in between dirt-cheap (Salvation Army) and moderately expensive (Stella Dallas).
