1. Visit the NY Aquarium to See the New EcoSystem Displays
The New York Aquarium Conservation Hall, renovated and opened in 2011, has wonderful exhibits of ecosystems from the Great Lakes of Africa, the Flooded Forest of the Amazon and the Caribbean Coral Reef. It's beautiful and also educational.

3. Earth Day at the Brooklyn Children's Museum
For kids on school holiday, the Brooklyn Children's Museum offers a week long series of great, hands-on, educational Earth Day events. Children will learn about plants, animals, and people — and discover that even small peope can help preserve our planet.
4. Earth Day Weekend: Prospect Park Lectures, Clean Ups & Fun
Brooklyn's largest park has a lot to celebrate, and protect. For Earth Day this year, volunteers can help clean up the park, children can attend educational programs at Lefferts House, and anyone can plant a tree, as part of the Plant a Million Trees initiative.5. 6. Marine Park Earth Day Fun (Free)
Spend the day with Mother Nature at Marine Park. Crafts activities for kids; visitors can enjoy a guided walk around the newly renovated trail.

7. School Break:Kids "Spring Sprouts" at Lefferts House, Prospect Park
Lefferts Historic House where children can participate in the annual Spring Sprouts program. They will see how the Park's kitchen garden is coming along, and make a pot of herbs to take home using newspaper, soil, and seeds. It is run during school break.
8. School Break: Kids at Audobon, Prospect Park
Enjoy free programs for kids on school vacation. The children can learn how to watch nature unfold, and keep a journal of what they see and do.
