Here are two Brooklyn Turkey Trots, one the weekend before the holiday, and one scheduled for the morning of Thanksgiving Day.
1. Prospect Park Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day
Every year since 1977, Brooklynites and guests have run, walked, and danced their way through the 5 mile annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot. Preregistration is required; early registrants qualify for a race souvenir.More Information: Prospect Park Track Club or Jack Rabbit Sports.
2. Coney Island Turkey Trot on the Sunday Before Thanksgiving
Want to get a 5K run in the weekend before Thanksgiving Thursday? Join the Coney Island Turkey Trot.Fees can be paid before or on the day of the race. First three male and female runners will get a prize of a Butter Ball Turkey. The first runners to preregister receive prizes too, such as a Coney Island sweatshirt. The reception after the race includes six -foot long hero sandwiches, music and beverages. There's parking at MCU Parking lot.
