When Do You Register for the Tour de Brooklyn? There's limited space on this ride, about 2000 people in 2012. So register in advance, as soon as registration is open, at http://tourdebrooklyn.org/register.

Who Organizes the Tour de Brooklyn? The 2012 event was co-sponsored by a host of local and national organizations, from our very own local Brooklyn Brewery to REI, and from Cliff Bar the healthbar manufacturer, and Habana Outpost, a local restaurant and watering hole in Fort Greene. Proceeds in 2012 went to benefit Transportation Alternatives.

Is there an event at the end? The ride ends at Commodore Berry Park on Navy Street, between Park and Flushing Avenues, on the border between Downtown Brooklyn and Fort Greene.

What's the route? In 2012, the route was 21.5 miles long, a loop starting and ending in Commodore Barry Park.

It is near the Manhattan Bridge, and under the access road to the BQE highway.

Participants ride through such classic Brooklyn neighborhoods as Fort Greene, Park Slope, Sunset Park, Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, Midwood, Kensington and Prospect Heights. In 2012, the rest stop was at Dyker Beach Park.

Is this a well-established ride? Yes, the event started in 2004.

The Tour de Brooklyn raises awareness about bicycling in Brooklyn. For more information, see the website:http://tourdebrooklyn.org/
