DUMBO is easily accessible from both the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge pedestrian-and-bike paths

Thousands of Brooklyn residents, New Yorkers from other boroughs, and tourists walk or bike over the Brooklyn Bridge or Manhattan Bridge to DUMBO.

And what's the first Brooklyn neighborhood they come to? DUMBO.

Trip Tips

  • Front Street is only a few blocks long, so it doesn't matter a great deal which end you start .This tour starts at Front Street at the intersection of Jay Street.
  • Public bathrooms are located in Brooklyn Bridge Park, near the Ice Cream Factory
  • Wear comfortable, low heeled shoes; some DUMBO streets are uneven.
  • Start at the F train stop at Jay Street, and walk down Jay Street toward the water to Front Street. Turn left.
  • Or, get off at the A C train stop at High Street, and walk toward the water down Pearl Street, arriving in two blocks at Front Street.
  • Or, you can go in the other direction, if you arrive in DUMBO from the 2,3 station at Clark Street in Brooklyn Heights. In that case, start at the end of this walk and work backwards.
