2. Jewish Festival of Purim.Celebrate the Jewish festival of Purim in one of Brooklyn's two Jewish neighborhoods. Eat traditional triangle pastries called hamentaschen ,in memory of an unlikely victory of the oppressed over the oppressors. (Given recent events in the Middle East, this ancient story has modern legs...) Purim begins at sundown on March 19, 2011.
