Update: The official Celebrate Brooklyn! 2009 calendar has been released. Check out this year's schedule for a great line-up that includes performers ranging from the Brooklyn-based MGMT to David Byrne and They Might Be Giants (and more!).

Every summer for nearly 30 years, the Celebrate Brooklyn! festival has taken over the Prospect Park Bandshell, offering free concerts, dance, film, and theater performances to thousands of Brooklyn residents.

The eight-week festival draws top music acts, including previous performers like Ani DiFranco, Joan Osborne, The Neville Brothers, Yo La Tengo, and TV on the Radio.

With New York City's largest outdoor movie screen, a three-story acoustic shell, and a capacity of up to 7,000, the renovated Bandshell is the perfect location for what has become Brooklyn's largest concert series. The festival attracts over 250,000 people each year.

Celebrate Brooklyn! is presented by BRIC Arts, a non-profit group that provides educational arts programs and performance space for Brooklyn residents and artists.
