22. Weekend for Kids: Visit Jane's Carousel (DUMBO)

It's gorgeous! Go visit! Jane's Carousel opened to the public in 2011 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, in DUMBO.

  • Where: The Carousel is located in the DUMBO section of The Brooklyn Bridge Park, on the East River, between the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges. The Carousel is easily accessed from Park entrances at Dock Street or Main Street. Get Directions
  • When: April 5 - May 25: 11 A.M.–6 P.M. From May 26 – September 30, open until 7 P.M. (closed Tuesdays).
  • Tickets: Tickets are $2. Children age 3 and younger or less than 42” tall may ride free if accompanied by a paying adult. 12 tickets cost $20.

Brooklyn's Memorial Day Parade began in 1867, and its organizers say it's the oldest continuously running Memorial Day parade in America. Head to Bay Ridge for an old fashioned patriotic parade ending with a 21-gun salute.
