Mother's Day 2009 falls on Sunday, May 10, and if you haven't yet made restaurant reservations or picked out the perfect present for the mom (or moms) in your life, then it's not too late to score a great gift. Here are a few Brooklyn-based ideas that mothers are sure to love.

The phenomenal croissants at Almondine are guaranteed mom-pleasers, and if you're lucky enough to live in or near DUMBO, then you (and the moms in your household) can partake in Almondine Bakery's Sunday morning "room service" breakfast delivery. Simply go to the bakery's website to order from an assortment of fine goods that include freshly baked pastries, coffee, and orange juice.

Place your order at least 24 hours in advance. Prices range from $16 to $31 for breakfast for two.

2. A Museum Membership

  • Brooklyn Botanic Garden Membership: An individual membership costs $40 and includes free individual admission to the Botanic Garden, two one-time guest passes, admission to various Garden events, and discounts on everything from gardening classes to local retailers' goods.

The perfect gift for music-loving mothers? An afternoon spent on Brooklyn's very own floating chamber-music hall, Bargemusic.

The concert line-up for Mother's Day includes classic pieces from Mozart, Schubert, and Dvovák. Tickets are priced at $40.

    4. Flower Mania

If the mothers in your life have green thumbs, then make your way on May 10 to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Try to catch the last of the season's cherry blossoms, or meet in front of the Visitor Center at 1pm for a guided tour.

When the kids are happy, Mom is happy, and no one better understands that than the masterminds running Prospect Park. On May 10, the park will host a day of special events geared towards families. Take a pedal boat ride, go on an electric boat tour, or learn about "Bird Mommies & Migration" on a free Mother's Day walking tour.

Not tired yet? End the day's festivities at the park's Mother's Day Concert and Sing-Along.
