Guide Review

Though Anella is more Italian-influenced than strictly Italian, very few restaurants can boast entrees just as delicious as their pastas and vice versa. Anella is one of these places. This small, romantic restaurant is situated at the top of Franklin Avenue in Greenpoint and is not to be missed. Take the G to Greenpoint Avenue and walk a few blocks - you will not regret it.

Anything on the menu is a safe bet - but especially the pastas. Though you might be tempted by the appetizers, only order them if you are starving: the entrees are healthy portions.  Order one special entree and one pasta - this month the choice was a Short Rib (cooked perfectly) and a brussel sprouts rigatoni that was perhaps the best brussel sprout pasta dish ever created. Top everything off with a bottle of wine or an expertly mixed cocktail from the bar and you have yourself a perfect Greenpoint evening.
