Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday: There's no school on Monday January 21,2013 in observance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
Note: High school students at NYC public schools also have Monday January 28 off.
February Midwinter Break: In normal years, NYC public school students effectively have a ten day February vacation, if one includes weekends. This year it was supposed to run from Friday February 15 after school through Monday February 25, 2013. However, the break has been abbreviated to February 18- 19. In a change of schedule announced in November, public school will be in session on February 20,21 and 22nd, to make up for time lost in late October and early November 2012 due to Hurricane Sandy.
