Frightfully Good Times for Kids of All Ages

If haunted houses and horror films are too scary for your little goblin, then try your luck at one of these kid-friendly Halloween events in Brooklyn.

A-scarium at the Aquarium

This Halloween, the New York Aquarium is transforming itself into an "A-Scarium," complete with games, pumpkin carving, prizes, arts & crafts, and plenty of scary stories about monsters of the deep sea. The museum will also be offering a Haunted House and a special 4-D Halloween movie.

The "A-scarium" will be open on weekends beginning October 10, from noon to 4pm (with the Halloween movie special airing from October 3 to November 1). The New York Aquarium is located at Surf Avenue & West 8th Street.

Boo at the Zoo

Little goblins will love seeing an array of "spooky" creatures at Boo at the Zoo in Prospect Park. Don't miss a walk through the zoo's haunted barn!

For all sorts animal-fueled fun, head to the Prospect Park Zoo on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, Novembre 1 from 10am to 5:30pm.

Creepy Crawly Halloween

Critter-fest! Kids ages 3 to 12 won't be able to wait to get their hands on all sorts of creatures at the Creepy Crawly Halloween event at the Audubon Center in Prospect Park.

The creepy crawly fun will be on Saturday, October 31 from 12pm to 5pm.

Monster Mash

Expect snakes, spooky stories, and plenty of crazy arts & crafts activities at Monster Mash at the Brooklyn Children's Museum. Costumes are optional but will most definitely add to the fun!

The event will take place on Friday, October 30 from 11am to 8pm, at the Brooklyn Children's Museum (145 Brooklyn Avenue).

Prospect Park is Haunted!

For a blast of free haunted fun, make your way to Prospect Park for a sure-to-be scary Halloween Haunted Walk and Carnival, suitable for kids of all ages. There will be frightful characters, seasonal treats, a puppet show, and more.

Take your haunted walk on Saturday, October 31 from 12pm to 3pm in the Nethermead area of Prospect Park.

Parade Power

Many neighborhoods in Brooklyn host local Halloween parades where kids can win prizes for their costumes and collect treats, but the annual Park Slope Children's Halloween Parade is the largest of its kind in the United States. The event is filled with activities, games, and treats that kids of all ages will love.

The parade will take place on Saturday, October 31 from 6:30pm to 9pm and will run along Seventh Avenue, from 12th Street to Union Street.

Scary Stories

Ready for some terrifying tales? Celebrate Halloween at Lefferts Historic House, and you'll hear as many chilling ghost stories as you can handle. Plus, participate in kid-friendly, Halloween-centric arts & crafts.

To get in on storytime, make your way to Lefferts Historic House in Prospect Park on Sunday, October 31 and Monday, November 1 from 1pm to 4pm.

A "Spooktacular" Carnival

There are plenty of "howling" good times to be had at the 4th annual Haunted Halloween Carnival produced by the Puppetry Arts Theatre. This year's event boasts games, a costume contest, trick or treat goodie bags, arts & crafts, and more.

Hit the carnival on Saturday, October 31 11am to 4pm at the 1st Street Recreation Center (between 4th and 3rd Avenues) in Park Slope.
