Vice-Presidential Debate
America's in the midst of a heated election, and tonight's debate between VP candidates Sarah Palin and Joe Biden promises to be an interesting one. Not sure where to watch the debate in Brooklyn? Head over to Pacific Standard for beer specials, huge projection screens, and plenty of politically-fueled fun.

Brooklyn 24-Hour Film Race
Put your movie making skills to the test at the 2008 Diesel Film Racing Tour. Contestants will create original short films within 24 hours for the chance to win fame and prizes.

NYC Green Buildings Open House
Tour green buildings all over New York City in this multi-borough event that offers bike tours, walking tours, and bus tours of the city's most eco-friendly homes, offices, restaurants, schools, and more. Tickets start at $25 and include lunch.

First Saturday at the Brooklyn Museum
Head to the Brooklyn Museum for a free night of film, music, dance, curator talks, and art. This month's theme is "Brooklyn's Biggest Birthday Bash!"

Atlantic Antic Street Festival
Today a 1.5 mile stretch of Brooklyn's Atlantic Avenue will be closed to traffic, and local businesses will be serving up a smorgasbord of specially-priced food, shopping, and fun. The annual Atlantic Antic has been a Brooklyn tradition for over 30 years.

Book Reading/Signing: Calling All Radicals
Listen to a book reading from Gabriel Thompson, author of Calling All Radicals: How Grassroots Organizers Can Save Our Democracy. The event is free, and refreshments will be served.
