Guide Review - Beco
Weeknights are laid-back at Beco, but come Friday and Saturday, it morphs into a lively restaurant that lures people in off the street.
The bar offers refreshing caipirinhas, modestly priced wines (the $30 Malbec is a nice choice), and cheap beers by the bottle. If you want an authentic dish, order the Feijoada (pronounced Feshwada), a traditional Brazilian smoky stew of meat and beans served over rice. A sweet shrimp stew called Moqeuca is consistently delicious and the filet mignon is well seasoned and reasonably priced at $17. Make a return trip for a $14.95 prix-fixe brunch that includes coffee and a drink and you’ll be convinced that Beco’s got it all.
