Brooklyn Star

The Brooklyn Star began business on Havemeyer Street, but after a kitchen fire destroyed the place, they've recently reopened on Lorimer St. right off of Metropolitan - and thank goodness.

Pros

  • Great Food
  • New Cocktails
  • Convenient Location

Cons

Guide Review

The Brooklyn Star has always featured delicious Texan style southern grub - like ribs, cornbread, collard greens and the like. But since they have moved to a newer, bigger space, the menu has also expanded to include larger entree-sized portions and a full bar. Now you can nosh on country fried steak, a half of a roasted chicken, or a braised pork shank pie, to name a few goodies. Cocktails focus mostly on the darker liquids like whiskey, and there's even a coffee bar.

Located conveniently right off the Lorimer L stop, The Brooklyn Star serves up delicious food with plenty of atmosphere. Here's to hoping this restaurant will thrive for a whole new audience of rib lovers.
