Guide Review
Dumont’s burger ($12), served with your choice of cheddar, blue cheese, or Gruyere (for an extra $2), says a lot about this restaurant. Along with old standards like a hanger steak and a brunch menu made up of Goat Cheese Omelets, Huevos Rancheros, and Bloody Mary’s make it both a neighborhood favorite and a destination for Manhattanites. Be prepared to wait for a table since technically Dumont doesn’t take reservations (but if you’re a large party calling ahead is always advisable).
You cannot go wrong ordering off the specials menu, and you should. Standard menu items like the chicken dish just aren’t as exciting. Order a bottle of wine for the table from an impressive list and take advantage of the skillful bartenders with house-made cocktail like the Garden Champagne Cocktail ($9). Enjoy everything outdoors in Dumont’s garden, which, thanks to a tent and space heaters is even open in the cold winter months.
