Guide Review - Egg
Over the past few years, Egg has garnered praise from the likes of the New York Times, New York Magazine, and various other well-known publications. What's the draw? It's a combination of great-tasting fare; reasonable prices; and artisanal, fresh ingredients that give the entire dining experience a straight-from-the-farm flair.
New Yorkers flock to this Williamsburg restaurant for dishes ranging from homemade biscuits and gravy to unbelievably delicious organic cheese-topped eggs. Families mingle with local hipsters, and the scene is low-key (and often very, very crowded).
Not sure what to order? My pick is the biscuit stuffed with Grafton cheddar cheese and artisanal country ham. Top it off with a French-press coffee, and you'll find yourself in breakfast bliss.
Good to know: Egg also serves dinner on Wednesday through Sunday. Menu options are simple but outstanding (think: perfectly fried chicken served with collard greens), making the restaurant well worth an evening visit.
