Brooklyn Crafts Fairs and Holiday Shopping Specials

It's shopping season in Brooklyn, and there's no reason to leave the borough to find presents for everyone on your list. Here's a collection of local craft fairs, holiday markets, and shopping deals and discounts, all Brooklyn-based. Happy holidays!

1. Gifted: A Holiday Market

Brooklyn Masonic Temple, 317 Clermont Avenue in Fort Greene

This market's tagline is "edited and eclectic for everyone," and offerings like one-of-a-kind vintage jewelry, cool antique clocks, vintage toys, and Brooklyn-made cards and stationery deliver on the promise. Hosted by the Brooklyn Flea and Time Out New York, "Gifted" features 40 curated vendors.

2. Snowflake Festival

Thursday, December 4 and Thursday, December 11, 7pm to 10pm
Park Slope

Park Slope merchants will be offering all sorts of specials and free give-aways at this holiday shopping event sponsored by "Buy in Brooklyn." Steep discounts make for a fun night of local shopping. Park Slope restaurants are part of the festivities, too, offering prix-fixe dinners and drink specials. Check out the website for a complete list of participating vendors.

3. Handmade in Brooklyn

Sunday, December 7, 12pm to 7pm
195 Morgan Avenue

Head to Williamsburg on the 7th, and you'll be privy to free gift bags and coffee, live music from Sigmund Droid & VJ Clay Franklin, spiked cocktails, refreshments, and a costume photobooth at the Handmade in Brooklyn Holiday Craft Fair, where vendors like the Brooklyn Kitchen and Mast Brothers Chocolate will be selling everything from holiday wrapping paper to LED hula hoops. Over 50 local artisans from throughout the borough will be hawking their handmade goods.

4. Sip & Shop Washington Avenue

Saturday, December 6
Washington Avenue in Prospect Heights

There will be special discounts, festive music, refreshments, and more at this first-ever holiday celebration on Washington Avenue. Activities include shopping, 'Toys for Tots' donations, and a chance to win the "world's largest stocking."

5. Winter Craft Fair at the BFS

Saturday, December 6, 10am to 5pm
375 Pearl Street

The 29th annual Winter Craft Fair at the Brooklyn Friends School will offer shopping and fun activities for everyone in the family. The school will be transformed into a winter wonderland, with unique holiday gifts from local artisans, carnival games, a book fair, delicious treats, and more. Proceeds benefit PS 307 and PS 287 in Fort Greene.

6. MoCADA "Shop Local" Holiday Sale

Saturday, December 6, 11am to 6pm
MoCADA, 80 Hanson Place (at South Portland)

Sip on hot apple cider and load up on local goods at this annual one-day shopping extravaganza. Gifts for sale include jewelry, fragrances, books from local writers, and more.

7. Secret Santa Project Holiday Sale

Saturday, December 13, 11am to 7pm
Secret Project Robot Gallery, 210 Kent Avenue (at Metropolitan)

Unique handmade goods for everyone on your shopping list. The event will feature small designers like Purldrop, Unearthen, Dear Birthday, Hortensia Handmade, and more.

8. Brooklyn Indie Market

Saturday, December 20 and Sunday, December 21, 11am to 7pm
Smith and Union Streets in Carroll Gardens

Shop for a good cause at this popular Brooklyn-based collective of independent fashion designers, where proceeds from all sales will go to St. John's Bread and Life, Brooklyn's largest emergency food provider.

9. Shop Brooklyn

December, select shops and restaurants in Brooklyn

Look for the "Shop Brooklyn" sticker in the windows of your favorite Brooklyn stores for special discounts and free gifts-with-purchases throughout the month of December. Just ask the salesperson for your "Shop Brooklyn" bonus.
