Run For the Wild .... in Brooklyn
Get involved in wildlife conservation, just by walking for an hour, or, if you're a jogger, running a fun, easy, and flat course.
They're calling it "Run For the Wild™," which is hilarious, because of course this is hardly-wild, very urban Brooklyn.
But if you're a runner and you want to see where the wild things are, then put on your running shoes and do a neat 5K jog (or walk) near the New York Aquarium in Coney in early October.
You won't be lonesome: more than 2,000 runners and walkers registered for the annual Coney Island event, which first came to Brooklyn in 2011.
Participants get a few free rides at Luna Park, and all day free admission to see the fish at the wonderful NY Aquarium. This is good family fun, a cool thing to do with a date or friends, and a nice way to meet new people.
Walkers are also welcome.

Have fun — and go wild!
